One song that could be a theme song for me would be “Eye of the Tiger” by Foreigner. Coach Bankson always plays it before a dual meet. The gym is dark with a spot light over the mat and the music starts and we run in, jumping up to touch the top of the door jam then running into the gym and into a circle for warm-ups. The fans are cheering and the music really gets me pumped up. One line really sums it up for me “it’s the thrill of the fight, risen up to the challenge of your rival…” In wrestling it is the thrill of the match and rising up to your opponent, one on one, to see who will win.

Another song is by Green Day, “We are the Champions.” This is a song about victory and is best when we have won a baseball game, dual meet or match in a tournament. This is also a song about overcoming obstacles to victory. “I’ve had my share of sand kicked in my face But I’ve come through. We are the champions-my friends-and we’ll keep on fighting-till the end-…”

Finally “The Star Spangled Banner” is a song that I hear before any sporting event and it makes me feel proud. I am proud to live in this country where I can compete in the sports I love. It reminds me of the struggle our country went through to become free and empowers me to want to succeed. “And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there…” show that even when things get rough you can always succeed. That is my way of thinking.

Dear 5 year-old Frank,

Some amazing things are going to happen to you this year and in years to come. One of the biggest things that will happen will your starting to play baseball when you are 8 years old. I suggest you start now, you will love it. Even if most of what you do is to see Giants games, playing catch and learning to hit you will have a great time.

When you get into sixth grade, you will start wrestling. I suggest you start now. Ask Dad to show you wrestling moves and take you see Coaches Rose and Bankson to start wrestling earlier. Even suggest he take you to CYC to practice.

One of the biggest changes in your 5th year will be becoming a big brother, again. Jack will be born at Halloween of your kindergarten year. Mom will feel sad that she missed your first school Halloween but you won’t mind.

Spend as much time as you can with your Grandparents, they won’t be around for many more years.

You will still have asthma when you are older but it’s not so bad. You can still do all the sports you want to.

When you start kindergarten you will make a lot of friends. You are still friends with them today.

Oh, and when the Giants want to sign Barry Zito for 126 millon dollars-bad move.

Enjoy everything- it is all good.

16 year-old Frank

One of my cats is 6 years old. She is rolling around on the floor like a kitten. When she was a kitten she did not play as much as she does now. She was independent, did not like to be held, petted or played with. Now she likes to lick our fingers, and sleep on top of the covers. She does not have a favorite person, she visits all three of us boys during the night. She likes to take my youngest brothers small stuffed toys and hunt them. Wonder if she knows they are toys or really thinks they are “alive” somehow. Doesn’t she realize that when she puts her paws on them and pulls up that they move? I wonder what cats really think about-the basics of food and sleep or deeper thoughts about the world?

Baseball fields. I like baseball fields. Playing baseball is the best. But I also like being at the fields in the early morning when no one is there. It is quiet, green and peaceful. I also like to go in the evenings when everyone has left. I go with my Dad and we water the fields, and do other odd jobs around the fields. It is exciting during game time but somehow restful when there are no games going on.

I have noticed that on school mornings I want to sleep in, but on weekend mornings when I can sleep in, I wake up early. Does not seem fair. Maybe if I went to bed thinking that every weeknight was the weekend I would get up easier on school mornings. Or is it just because it is a school morning?

One of the great things about having little brothers is that they are always entertaining. I have learned that the heaviest person in the world weighs 1246 lbs. Why he thinks that is something important I need to know is beyond me. I also know about who cheats at kickball at recess and which 4th grader took a cell phone call during class. They like it when I help them with baseball, and wrestling and their homework. I guess it could be worse, they could be little sisters and giggle all the time.

Halfway through writing 10 random thoughts. My thoughts on writing 10 random thoughts-I’ll let you know at the end.

I just finished umpiring a Little League game. It is really interesting to see the coaches, nice, friendly, easy-going guys turn into excitable, half-crazed men when the calls go against or for their team and kid. Some of these guys are living vicariously through their kids but they should calm down. The kids are having fun, mostly, regardless of who wins or loses.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be a dog? Sometimes I think it would. When I see my dog sleeping in the sunshine without a care in the world I get jealous. I wonder if she is truly asleep because we are home and “guarding” her or would she be instantly awake and defend us? Hopefully she would defend us. She likes to eat the cat food and the cats like to eat her food. We tried switching the bowls once so each would be eating the right food but they knew. The dog still ate the cat food and the cats ate the dog food.

Back to little brothers. I was just asked how animals and people knew that they needed to drink water. Not in present time, when they are thirsty, but when the first animals were on earth how did they know to drink water? How am I suppose to know this? I’m not that old! Little brothers are entertaining.

My Mom and I are planning to put a fountain in the backyard this summer. I think the sound of the water will be nice. We like to work in the yard together. She lets me pick out plants and really listens to my ideas. It is fun to create something that the whole family can enjoy.

Well, this is the tenth paragraph of random thoughts. I guess this has been an interesting assignment. I just hope we don’t have to do ten random essays about random thoughts!

Who wants to be a millionaire? Everyone, of course. To get on the show you have to be accomplished in answering the phone at the right time and then answering a series of questions quickly and without prior warning. If you are successful, you then get to come to the taping of the live show. At this juncture, you sit at a strange computer, read a random question and have to order the answer correctly in the fastest time to get into the “hot seat.”

Once there, you will start slowly with some simple questions that everyone should know. If you miss one of these low dollar questions, you deserve to go home empty-handed. Then the questions suddenly get harder, kindergarten to college in five thousand dollars. Of course at this point you have lifelines to help you become a millionaire. You can call a friend, poll the audience (but really, how smart are they?) or eliminate two wrong answers. The two wrong answers are not always the most obvious wrong answers. They are totally trying to trick you. Finally, after you have answered about a million questions, you get to the high dollar questions that even a rocket scientist would have trouble with. You have three choices, first risk the money and guess at the right answer knowing that if you lose you lose a lot of money. Stop where you are and take your winnings and run. Or you can answer the question correctly and move on. Your heart pounds, you forget to breathe and your brain goes blank. What to do? You think you might possibly, just have a clue at the answer. Just when you have an idea of the answer they break for commercial and you forget everything.

Wouldn’t it be easier just to get a high paying job without all the pressure?

My perfect day would be waking around eight o’clock to a breakfast of French toast and bacon in my hotel in Arizona. I would go to the spring training fields and see as many games as I could . I would also try to get autographs from players and see if I could maybe even get onto the field to take batting practice. After that I would go swimming under the Arizona sun. Then I would go back to the fields to see any afternoon games that were happening that day . I would get a hot dog and soda and other good ballpark food they had. That night there would be “on the field” time where fans could do stuff on the fields, in the batting cages just as if you were a player. Then I would go back to the hotel and watch movies and play video games for the rest of the night hoping I could do the same thing tomorrow.

I really like the picture of the house.  I think it shows a time that happens everyday when it is just the end of night and the beginning of the day.  The house is peaceful and only two windows are lit.  The porch light is still on and casts a beautiful reflection on the pond.  The tree is sharply defined in the contrast of dark and light.  The sky is light blue with white puffy clouds and is gently lit.  It holds the promise of more light to come, or maybe more clouds.    The contrast of light and dark really makes it a peaceful picture where your eye can wander to the reflection in the pond, or the porch light or the sky.  Which ever time of day you like you can find it in this picture.  I think it shows that moment in everyday when time stands still for a second and the night is over and you are ready for a new day.  You cannot know what the day will bring but the hope of the day following the night, like clock work is a constant.  Sometimes having a constant in life is good, secure and safe.

My style hasn't changed much since I was a baby. Jeans, t-shirt, sweatshirt, and baseball cap. I have always worn jeans and probably will for a long time to come. Wearing t-shirts has remained a constant, only what is on the t-shirt has changed. When I was little, dinosaurs and trains were the predominant theme. When baseball entered my life so did baseball themed t-shirts. At first they were generic shirts about baseball. As I grew more interested in the Giants most of the shirts supported the Giants. When I started wrestling, a new theme was added. Now my t-shirts are a mix of wrestling and baseball but the baseball now includes minor league teams, All-star game and still the Giants.

My sweatshirts are either wrestling or baseball. It is funny though. The wrestling sweatshirt is thinner, even though wrestling is a winter sport and the baseball sweatshirt is heavier and warmer even though it is a spring sport. My baseball caps are always Giants or Cougars. Someday I will have to change how I dress for work, but right now jeans and a t-shirt are fine-with baseball uniforms thrown in for variety.

1. Do you believe in karma?

I don’t fully believe in karma but to a point I do. If someone is mean to someone or an animal I believe that eventually they will get punished for it. If you do something really nice for someone else when you could have been doing that you really wanted to do I think you will at some point be reworded for that. If you did something bad but it’s not that bad I don’t think you will get punished for it.

3. If you could have any one superpower, what would it be and why?

My superpower would be to have elastic limbs. With this power I could play any sport I wanted to and be really good at it . It would make baseball a lot easier because I could catch any ball hit. Wrestling would be easier because I could get out of any move and I could get any move I wanted to on my opponent.

4. If you could invite any 5 famous people or characters to your birthday party, who would you pick?

My first pick would be the manager of the Giants Bruce Bochy so I could tell him all of my ideas on how to make the Giants a better team. Next would be Omar Visquel , the Giants shortstop, because he is me and my brothers favorite player, he is type of person that brings energy and excitement to the room and because he is one of the greatest fielders of all time, so I could get some tips on fielding. Also I would invite the character Ben from LOST so I could find out everything about the island. Next would be Yoda from Star Wars so he could teach me the force. Last would be the Commissioner of MLB Bud Selig so he could give tickets to the world series as a birthday present.

5. If you could live in any film or book, what would you select? Would you want to be one of the characters, or would you want to be you (introduced as a new character)?

I would pick to be in Star Wars, but I wouldn’t be any of the characters because most of them eventually get killed. I would be myself there, learn the force, get a ship and just fly around in it until I found some really cool planet to live on.

6. Who of your friends would make the best president? I can't wait to know why.

I think my friend Daniel would make the best president. He is really good at organizing things and ideas and would probably make really good decisions for the country.

7. I used to always trip out that my strawberry Chapstick tasted so strongly like strawberries (and why was I eating so much Chapstick?). Then I realized that it wasn't the taste that was strong; it was the smell. They say that smell is the strongest scent. What is your favorite smell? USE CONNOTATIONS, FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE, OR ANALOGY in your (butter) saucey answer.

I cant really think of a certain smell that is my favorite, but one that comes to mind is the smell of freshly cut grass. I like this smell not because it smells great or anything , but because my dad does field maintenance at the Albany Little League baseball fields so I remember going there to help him pick up all the clumps of grass that he had just cut and in exchange I would get to do some extra practice. Also, playing baseball on a hot Saturday morning with the smell of freshly cut grass in the air really gets you ready to play.

8. If you could invent a new class for AHS to teach, what would it be?

My new class would be a sports strategy class. This class would go over the history of certain sports and talk about strategies. Current events in sports would also be important.

9. Identify any symbol from any film ever (pick your favorite if you can think of many from which to choose). Identify what it means and why you picked it.

I think that light sabers in Star Wars symbolize chivalry. Even though they are not the most powerful weapon available it is the most useful.

10. Will humankind still exist in 300 years?

I think the world will still exist as long as there is not a devastating natural disaster , a world wide nuclear war or if aliens come and destroy us.

11. What is the most embarrassing song to ever grace your IPOD? Why was it there, may I ask?

My brother wanted a lot of the songs I have on my IPOD on his so he added his songs onto my song list and when I went to add another song , not knowing that he had added songs, I downloaded a song to my IPOD and then I realized that one of my brothers Sponge Bob songs got put on my IPOD.

12. Corey Chin's brilliant question (and it's got me curious): How much would you charge to clean Mr. Ross' microwave?

I would probably look at it each time before cleaning to set my price. It would probably be pretty high.

13. Did you support your answers?

Yes, I think I answered my questions fully.

03 February 2008 @ 05:53 pm

I can’t believe Mr. Ross is making me do this when I could be watching the start of the second half of the Super Bowl. The first half was really close, Giants 3 and New England 7. The Giants might be able to pull off an upset. I am so happy because once I finish this I will be done with my homework for the weekend but I know I will get more tomorrow to suffer through. I can hear the crunching sound of the chips my brother is eating as he awaits the game starting up again. My other brother is playing something in his room and will probably come in to watch the game in a couple of minutes. Yesterday I had a wrestling tournament in which I had to get to AHS at 5:45am and didn’t get back until 10:15pm. This was a long time considering I only wrestled for about 8 minutes the entire day. I wonder if it will start raining again today. Earlier I was sitting in our living room when s sudden gust of rain and hail started to come down and within five minutes it was sunny again. This has been a very cold winter too. I hope this stops soon because I am tired of it being 40-45 degrees F when school starts, and running the mile in first period in 45 degree weather is just horrible. My brother just gave a loud “darn it” after the Patriots couldn’t get the first down. I don’t know why but he has this obsession with Boston sports teams. He says he likes the SF Giants the best in baseball but I think he really likes the Red Sox better. In football he loves the New England Patriots, and he likes the Boston Celtics as well. He has never been to Boston but has this strange connection with all these teams. My twelve minutes are up so I can get back to watching the Super Bowl.

Rory Gallagher: The Continental Op

Sam Spade spends a lot of his time listening to the cops as they try to pin the murders on him. “It only show that-never know/So who they gonna get when/the troubles got to stop” shows that you never know who the cops are going to go after, unless you are Sam Spade and know they are coming after you. Sam Spade’s agency is always open for business, “Call the agency, we never close,” especially if you are a beautiful woman with cash. When his partner gets murdered and the cops are trying to put the murder onto him, the lyrics, “I’ll track you down like a hound/Who they gonna get when you’ve outfoxed the cops.” so Sam Spade’s determination to clear him name and find the real killer.

Michael Jackson: Dangerous

After his partner was killed, Sam Spade wondered about the truthfulness of Miss Wonderly, “The way she came into the place/I knew right then and there/There was something different/About this girl.” After he gets Miss Wonderly to confess her true intentions Sam Spade realizes, “She’s so dangerous/The girl is so dangerous.” Basically, Miss Wonderly was, “This girl I could not trust/This girl was bad/This girl was dangerous.”

Green Day: Eye of the Tiger

“Rising up, back on the street/Did my time, took my chances,” sums up Sam Spade on the streets, solving the crimes, taking a chance that he could be hurt (or killed) or arrested for the murders. When he solves the crime, he is rising up to the challenge of his rival. His rival is the criminal, “Rising up to the challenge of our rival.” When Sam Spade has just about solved the crime, he is at the hardest part of confronting the criminal he, “Went the distance, now I’m not gonna stop/Just a man and his will to survive,” he has to survive to solve the crime and prove he is innocent.

Wings: Live and Let Die

“When you were young/And your heart was an open book/You used to say live and let live,” reminds me of when Miss Wonderly first came to see Sam Spade and tell him her story about her sister so innocently. When Sam finds out his partner is shot and murdered he has a moment when, “Makes you give in and cry/say live and let die.” Sam Spade goes after the person who shot and murdered his partner, “What does it matter to ya/when ya got a job to do/Ya got to do it well/You got to give the other fella hell.”

The Puppini Sisters: I Will Survive

When Sam Spade sees through Brigid O’Shaughnessy he feels, “Go on now go walk out the door/Just turn around now/’Cause you’re not welcome anymore.” Sam Spades motto throughout the book is, “I will survive.” When the whole reality of what he has gotten himself into and of the reality of his partners death, Sam Spade feels, “It took all the strength I had/Not to fall apart."

19 December 2007 @ 09:30 pm

I have many favorite foods. I love hamburgers, pizza, French fries, chocolate chip cookies, the list goes on. None of these are my most favorite food; that would be calm chowder in a bread bowl. A lot of places serve clam chowder, but most are not in a bread bowl.

I love clam chowder; especially on cold or rainy days. Even if its not miserable outside I still love it. To me it is very soothing, warm, and the bits of clam add to the thick broth. Another thing I love about it is that you can have it as a appetizer, main coarse for dinner or even lunch. I also think it is a good way to get little kids who don’t eat soup to start to like and maybe even try other soups.

The first time I had clam chowder in a bread bowl was when I was about seven or eight and we were in Disneyland where it was freezing so we went to this restaurant that served clam chowder and that sounded really good so I got it and found that it was in a bread bowl. It was one of the best things I have ever had. Whenever I go to Disneyland or anywhere else that serves clam chowder in a bread bowl, that is always what I get.

The bread bowl is just a round French bread with the middle taken out to make a bowl. This is great because you can dip the bread they took out of the center into the soup, and you can eat the bowl when you are done with your soup.

If you ever go to Disneyland or see this on the menu you should try it out, its good for any time of day or weather and its always good.

1. If you could be a fly on anybody's wall, on whose wall would you perch? Why? What would you do with the information?

I would be on the wall of the New York Yankees general managers office. I could hear about all their plans on trades, strategies, and everything else they talk about. With the information I could do a number of different things. I could work for another team and be able to tell them what the Yankees were doing before any one else does. I could also be a agent for players and could find out what type of offer the Yankees were going to make and why so I could get a better deal for my client.

2. What is your favorite piece of art? Describe what it looks like. Why do you like it so much? How does it make you feel? Does it tell a story? Have symbolism?

My favorite piece of art is the giant coke bottle and giant glove at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Over the left field bleachers there is a giant coke bottle with a giant baseball glove next to it. Not only does the glove give some character to the park, but it is also the biggest baseball glove ever made. I like these so much because when I first started playing baseball I went to a Giants game and the coke bottle and glove really stood out to me. Whenever I see them I think of all the games I have been to and how much I like baseball and how much I like the Giants.

3. If you could choose your parents, how would they be? Describe how they look, act, and parent. What do they do (for work, hobbies, etc)?

I would have my parents be basically the same except my dad would work for the Giants so I could go on the field and in the clubhouse to meet the players. I would also have my parents like baseball a lot before I was born so then I could have started playing baseball and going to games when I was younger.

4. If you could live in any decade, which one would it be and why? ELABORATE. What opportunities would you take advantage of in said decade?

I would pick the 60’s. The main reason is that the Giants had great players like Mays, McCovey, Perry, Cepeda, and Bonds. These were not only some of the Giants best players ever , but they were some of baseballs best players in history. I would take advantage of this by going to the game when Willie Mays made his spectacular catch in center field which is on of the best defensive plays ever made.

5. If you could/had to be any Disney character, who would it be and why?

If I could pick a character to be I would pick Pluto. Pluto is Mickey’s dog who lives a better life than most dogs. He gets to chew bones, bark at people, go on walks through the park, and has a owner that cares for him. He also gets to go lots of places with Mickey, and do things that other dogs don’t get to do.

6. There is a difference between the moral man and the criminal in that the moral man has a legitimate reason to steal. Support or refute this idea (that a person's objectively bad deeds can be justified by the subjectivity of their life).

The criminal is stealing for the fun of stealing or to get back at someone. The moral man would steal because his family needs more money to get food on the table or would have a good excuse for why he did it even though its not a good thing to do.

Roughly ten years after the collapse of the Empire, Luke Skywalker is training padowans to become Jedis on Couresant is hopes of re-establishing the JedI council. Leia, who is now a JedI master is focusing her time on the Senate to make sure there is not one person in charge too long so it will not fall into the wrong hands. Luke is getting guidance from Masters Yoda and Obi-wan through the force.on how to train and keep the JedI’s alive. The biggest problem Leia is dealing with on the Senate is the new crop of soldiers that are coming out of Kamino for Leia does not want the soldiers to be in the sole charge of one person or group.

Even though the Emperor was killed and the Sith were gone, Luke still worries that there might be another apprentice and Sith lord because he feels a minor disturbance in the force. The Sith lord Darth Sideous who was the Sith lord that trained Darth Vader is communicating through the force to teach a young, powerful apprentice Darth Terminus. Darth Terminus is in his early twenties but has not revealed himself as a Sith. When Luke was first starting the JedI training with the new apprentices, a young boy named Clint Barbosa was turned away for having too much anger for a JedI. Clint’s anger made him an easy target for Darth Sideous. Once Darth Terminus was old enough he got into politics on Couresant. Being an athletic politician he quickly moved through the ranks of soldier to be part of the group in charge of the new soldiers coming from Kamino. Just as Darth Sideous had done before, he started to build up some outer-rim forces focusing around the Genosians to start attacking weaker or unorganized systems such as Tattoine in hopes that the senate will utilize the soliders under the command of General Barbosa not knowing he is actually the Sith Darth Terminus.

Darth Sideous is planning this similarly and differently from his previous plan to get the soldiers in his command. Before it was already known there was a Sith and he was given total control over the new soldiers by the Senate. This time, there is not known to be any Sith or other great threat and General Barbosa would not be given complete control of the soldiers but would have a big enough say to change what the army did.

My opening scene would be the Millenium Falcon piloted by Hans Solo and Chewbacca bringing young Wookies to Couresant to become new JedI’s. Since all six previous Star Wars have started with a ship scene it is appropriate to start with one here and would immediately be bringing the plot into the story like the previous six did.

Another scene would be Darth Sideous contacting Darth Terminus about what was going on and what his next moves in the Senate and with the army should be.

Not all of the conflicts brought up in this episode would be answered because there are still two more episodes to complete the nine episode saga.

My invention would be a Micro-Wish Oven. You would walk up to it and say whatever you wanted to eat, and it would appear inside the oven. It would be cooked and be exactly the same as if someone had made it.

I haven’t got the science aspect down for it yet for making the food appear, but that will come later. My oven would come in two main designs. One would be the size of a microwave which couldn’t make anything too big because it is smaller. The other design would be the size of a oven. This could make your bigger or smaller things. Both of these could still be used as a microwave or oven if you wanted to make something yourself.

Even though the bigger design sounds more useful the smaller one would still be used. Offices, stores, schools etc. would use the smaller micro-wish oven because they are cheaper and smaller and more suited for a smaller place. The oven size one would be for houses.

By having the Micro-Wish Oven you could save space, time, and our natural food supplies. Both would be affordable because it would save a lot of food, and would give more land back to it’s natural state. The old cooking appliance companies would not like this because it would take money from them, but they could go into the micro-wish oven business. Grocery stores would remain open but there might not be as many of them. Companies that made dishwashers would remain in business until the micro-wish dishwasher was invented.

1. What is your favorite book?

My favorite book would have to be And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. I like this book because I like murder mysteries which this book is about. Even though my seventh grade class read this book, so while I was reading it I had to do work for it, I still was able to enjoy the book and really get into the plot.

2. If you could/had to live in any country besides the United States, where would it be?

I would probably live in either Canada, England, or Japan. I would live in Canada or England because they speak English but I don’t know to much about every day life in either of these countries because I have never been there. Living in Japan would be hard until you learned the language. But the life style in Japan and the atmosphere is similar to the United States.

3. Who is your favorite superhero?

I don’t know to much about superhero’s, but my favorite superhero is Spiderman. It’s kind of ironic because I hate spiders but I think its awesome to swing between buildings.

4. If you could change any one law, what would it be?

I think that they should strengthen the smoking laws because smoking is so bad for you and can harm other people not just yourself.

5. Is life a matter of reality or is it all just based on perception?

I think that every one sees life differently based on there likes and dislikes. Things that you like will stand out to you and things that you don’t like will not.

6. Is it better to be too hot or too cold?

I think this question is different for everyone. For me I like both. Being too hot or too cold can both be equally good and bad, but I think if I had to choose I would want to be cold because you can wear more layers to get warm and you can eat and drink hot and soothing things to get worm.

8. Do you believe that pain and suffering is a necessary part of life?

I think that it is. Every gets hurt mentally and physically at some part in our life and that makes us stronger. Also everyone dies at some time and it is a natural part of life.

9. Is animal testing acceptable?

I think that some types of testing are okay but if it harms or kills the animals it is not good. I think rather then testing them we should monitor what they do on there own in the wild.

10. Do you believe that ghosts exist?

I believe that ghosts exist in peoples minds. If someone believes in ghosts then they exist and if they don’t then they do not exist.

11. Do you believe that you can never have too much of a good thing?

I do not think you can ever have too much of one thing that you really like. If there is a game, sport, food, movie, etc. that you like you can never get too much of that thing.

12. Do you believe that school is the best way to make a person smarter?

I think that the purpose of school is to make people smarter but I don’t think that always happened. In order for school to be successful you need to have a teacher who teaches you the right things in a way you can understand. But, the student has to be willing to put in the effort to learn or else school is pointless for that student.

13. Do you believe that Free Market Capitalism is fair? If not, what would you suggest?

I think it is fair. Without it people couldn’t have yard sales or sell something to there friend. I think this is the fairest way to sell things.

14. Do you believe that war can be justified?

I think that in some cases war can be justified but in others it can’t. If the people who are in the war don’t have a really good and reasonable cause to start the war then the war should not happen.

16. Do you think you are anyone's favorite person in the world?

I think my brothers and I share this with my parents. I think my parents think of us as there favorite person because they would not do as much as they do for us if we were not there favorite people.

Baseball truly is America’s pastime, but is now being played around the world. This is happening because people are finding out how fun baseball is. Baseball can bring any combination of people together no matter there race, language, or ability. Anyone can play, watch, or talk baseball no matter what. This last summer I spent three weeks in Japan and a week of the trip was spent living with a host family who happened to love baseball. None of them spoke very good English but we still could communicate when it came to baseball. We played, watched, and talked about baseball. This experience should me how similar and different baseball is in Japan to the United States, and I saw that everyone can be part of baseball.
Watching baseball is almost as fun as playing. You get to guess what will happen next and analyze plays after they happen. I don’t care if I’m watching the Giants game or seeing my nine year old brother play Little League baseball I watch and analyze it the same way. Sometimes a Little League game can be more exciting then a professional one. I have found that watching baseball makes you a better player. My coach was showing me something to help my fielding and said that if I paid close attention to the professional fielders I would see what he was saying, he was right.
Talking about baseball can also be great, whether I’m arguing with an A’s fan who is saying the Giants suck or going over a game with my friend it’s fun. What part of baseball I’m talking about depends on what time of year it is. In April I’m saying the Giants are going to win the World Series, during the season it’s whose going to make the playoffs and which players are having a good or bad season. In the playoffs we are talking about who is going to win it all, right now it’s all about who signs who (especially A-Rod) and about the Red Sox’s beating the Rockies. No matter what time of year, baseball is fun to talk.
Playing baseball is still the funnest thing to do no matter if you’re stressed, down, or even if it’s raining baseball is always great. As the great Yogi Berra said “Baseball is half physical and 75 percent mental” This is true. If you think that if you came up to bat in the last inning with the tying run on third you would be nervous, your right, but once you step in the batters box you have to let that go and focus on getting a hit. Baseball is definitely not all stressful but it actually can relax you. I have found that if I am stressed or mad about something if I practice hitting or fielding or even just play catch I will feel much better.
Baseball is one of the hardest sports to succeed in, but when you do it feels great. Hitting a ball with a round bat is one of the hardest things for humans to do. But there is no better feeling then hitting the ball and getting a hit. Baseball also involves a lot of team work. Nothing can be accomplished without teamwork, the pitcher needs the catcher in order to succeed and all the other players depend on each other to make the play. Other sports like soccer, basketball, football, and hockey also involve teamwork in order to succeed. Sports like track and NASCAR (Not A Sport ‘Cuz Athletes Run) I don’t think connect to baseball that much.
I think baseball is a great sport that everyone should at least watch if they are unable to play because it brings so much fun and enjoyment to your life. One interesting fact: baseball is the only sport where the defense controls the ball.

Fear

Ever since I was a small kid I have had arachnophobia.  I am not really sure how I became afraid of spiders, but as long as I can remember I have hated them. Everything from small ones to tarantulas have creeped me out.

When I was younger I had a dream of either a giant spider jumping on me and covering me in it's web preparing to eat me or it would be a smaller spider climbing up my body. Both of these dreams would freak me out but then I would wake up and be afraid of a spider coming at me in the dark.

To back up my dreams I have had some encounters with spiders in really life. Whenever I would see a spider I would try to ignore it but sometimes that wasn't always possible. We were at my Dad's company picnic in Concord, playing games and having a good time. But a lot of peope were crowding around this path and my brother told me I should come see it. So I make my way to the front of the group of people and saw a tarantula about two feet away from me, so I immediently got out of there and went to my parents and asked them if we could leave because of what happened but we could not go yet so I stayed as far away from that spot as  I could.

My life long fear of spiders is starting to get better because I do mind the smaller ones now thanks to the giant spiders I saw in Japan. I still hate spiders and that might be a reason why I have never really liked Halloween.

I think that I am most like a dog. Dogs are friendly, smart, kind, and athletic and I think all of these characteristics relate to me as well. Dogs are most of the time friendly to other dogs or humans that they meet. I know that dogs are not considerd to be the smartest animals but in a way they are. Dogs, if trained, can find drugs or be a companion to a disabled person and can lead a blind person safely accross a busy street. I also know dogs that will push their food bowl accross a room to let their owner know that they want to be fed. These show the intelligence and kindness of most dogs. Dogs are also extremely athletic, they can run, jump, and even catch a ball in their mouth. Dogs ability to catch, to me, compares them to playing sports, especially those with hand eye coordination. I play baseball so I know how hard it can be to catch a ball with your hands so I can't imagine how hard it must be to catch with your mouth.

"Dogs are considerd mans best friend". Dogs are great in almost every way and I think that most of their characteristics relate to humans and most of those I think relate to me.

"A Hard Day's Night" by the Beatles tells the world that life and getting through the day are hard but you will get through it.
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
This shows how the day can get really hard in whatever you do.  Being a kid and going to school or being an adult and working, the day can seem long and hard.  This can seem depressing that you have to go through this everyday.
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
                             Will make me feel alright
Even though the day is tough, as long as you have something to work for and to get home to, it can help motivate you to get through the day knowing that when you ge home you will be alright.
When I'm home everything seems to be right
If once you are home and done with your day you will realize that the day was worthwhile to be able to get to this point.  This can motivate you to want to get up the next day and do it all over again.
This song should be heard around the world to help motivate people who have trouble getting through the day.  Everyone has something that makes them feel special and if they can put their energy into working for that rather than being down on how rotten the day is you will get through the day faster, have a better day, and it will make coming home even better.  This song can motivate people to do whatever they want to do as long as they work for it.
